Lacriforte can be used as an artificial tear and applied to dogs and cats that do not produce enough tear fluid or when there is a risk of drying out the eyeball.

The drops can also be used in eye examinations (gonioscopy), for cleaning the eyes and reducing and removing tear streaks.
